Elements of a Childhood Photomontage
A lot of people whom I’ve met told me that Childhood growing up Photomontage is not an important showcase of their wedding. To most people, it would usually be their Actual Day gate crashing event or the couple of thousand dollars bridal photography which they felt money well spent.
“Childhood Photomontage is just showing off some old photos only”
Someone actually told me this when I told him about the elements of a Childhood Photomontage.
“Seriously why would people even need to spend money on this? Just do with powerpoint loh”
He further suggested.
Now In every job, in every profession there would be people who won’t appreciate your work. I respect his point of view and the comments he made.
Truly there are many couples who think that way (if not I would have definitely earned a lot) There were times I began to think of it that way, that it is not something that is important in a wedding banquet.
Luckily over the years, some clients provided me with other point of views.
“A Childhood montage is the first presentation in almost every banquet and it is usually the one which sets the mood of the wedding. A good Photomontage will leave your guest look back at your growing up stages and your classmates will rekindle the good old times during the dinner”
“We hope to use our growing up montage as a tribute to both our parents, thanking them for their support taking care of us when we were young and looking after us through many occasions, happy or sad”
“Usually the banquet would start about 8.30- 8.45pm and guest would already be hungry watching the Photomontage. If the Photomontage is something interesting, at least they will feel good with the wait.
I’ve actually saw a 12 minutes long looping of photos and you can see the face of the guest being annoyed already”
How presentable you want your Photomontage and how much you want to put in for this 7minutes of slideshow to tell them your life story it's really up to you.
As my wife would like to summarize it, a Photomontage may not only be view during the wedding, it can also be shown to your children in the future as a collection of your life to them.
Just ask yourself how come Banquet spends so much effort for their first dish?
